Say Cheese ... Please?!?!

I practically had to beg Gabe to let me to take some pictures of him.  He was NOT excited to wear the Santa hat, nor did he want to wear Daddy's Christmas tie!  So opinionated these days :)  This is all I got  after saying ... "smile!!! and say cheese!!  Please??!!" ... about a thousand times ...


I love this sweet guy!  You are growing up too fast :(

Here Comes Santa Claus ...

We have a Santa hat in our coat closet ... I'm not really sure where it came from!  Abby and I decided to have a little fun with it today :)  We threw in an ornament and Daddy's scarf for distractions.  We hope you are having a very Merry Holiday Season!

I took a few pictures of Abby today while Gabe was napping.  I tried to coax Gabe into picture taking while Abby was asleep, but he wanted to play instead :)  I took these so I could play around with coloring in my post processing.  I'm still trying to find my style ... I can't decide what I like best!!  Let me know which one is your favorite!  They are all kind of similar

Merry & Bright!

I LOVE this time of year, and having little ones only makes it brighter!  They are so sweet!  Abby loves the lights and the ornaments ... she is actually pretty gentle with them.  Gabe is learning some of the Christmas songs, he mostly sings jingle bells.  I've never really heard him sing along to something in the car, but when a version of Jingle Bells came on he belted it out!  Melted my heart and made me smile.  We really want to instill the true meaning of Christmas in our kids ... JESUS!  We read the story of Christmas every night before bed, and each night Gabe picks up on something new.  He thinks it is the neatest thing that the angel's name is Gabriel.  :) We also have our wonderful Jesse Tree that our dearest Megs made for us!  You can do so many things with a Jesse Tree, and after much searching, we finally found a devotional/tradition that will work for our family ... 10 Months!

Abby is 10 months old!  On the days I work, I swear she is different when I come home at night.  Somewhere in those 14 hrs she picked up on something new, grew more hair, found new words.  Uhhh!  Thankfully I only have to work 2-3 days a week, so on my days off we spend our time together discovering all things new!  I love seeing her personality come alive and the differences/similarities between her and Gabe.  She is pretty sensitive, which is COMPLETELY opposite of Gabe!  She is so inquisitive, which is EXACTLY Gabe!  :)

> She is getting a 4th tooth on the bottom front, and her incisors are still trying to poke through.  She has a nice gap between her 2 front teeth ... Just like Didi, Auntie, and Mama (until I got braces)
> She is standing on her own so much more.  Her little legs are getting stronger and losing some chub :(
She is starting to cruise around things.  It won't be long, folks!
> She enjoys her food, but not as much as I remember Gabe enjoying it.  When she's done, she's done ... 4 bites or 20.  Just depends!  Her newest food love is guacamole.
> She loves breast feeding.  I think she will be difficult to wean, where as Gabe could've cared less.  It might get interesting
> Books are still a love, she's learning to turn pages instead of eating them
> She still waves with her entire arm, LOVE this!
> Dancing is a new favorite ...  if she is sitting on the floor she starts bouncing and pumping both arms up and down.  She can really get going!  Pretty funny, and of course adorable :)  And if she is standing, she does a little booty bounce.
> She is really in to mimicking noises/words we make.  She is so close to actually saying the words, it's kinda strange!  I know it will be a bit still for actual words, but it's fun to play.
> Loves splashing in the bath tub and taking baths with Gabe
> Her cousin, Brinn, gave her one of her Minnie Mouse stuffed animals ... Abby is in LOVE.  We take her everywhere

I say this all the time, but she is such a joy!  Easy going, most of the time, and so sweet.  Love you baby girl!

Halloween 2012

I realize this is a late entry, but better late than never!  We had a fun Halloween, although a little cold!  It didn't stop the kiddos!  Cooper came over to trick or treat with Gabe.  They were so excited!  We made it around the big block and they got loads of candy.  They definitely got the hang of it this year ... it was so cute!

This is the best I could do as far as pictures ... it was cold and the kids were ready to go!!

Just to compare ... these are from Halloween 2011!  They were so little!!

Little Man

I took Gabe to a near by park today to snap just a few pictures.  He was such a trooper, it was just before nap time and he was exhausted!  I didn't get a whole lot of smiles, but I still think I captured a side of him we see a lot.  He is a BIG sweetie!  I think he enjoyed our little outing, just the two of us.  He enjoyed looking at the creek, running over the bridge, sitting on the big seats, and playing on the fence.  When we finished, he wanted to run the bases on the baseball diamonds.  So cute!
